Alliance for Progressive and Sustainable Environment is an NGO passionate about contributing significantly to environmental sustainability and development. It was established as an extension of the social responsibility of concerned Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka lecturers. It is a non-political organization and has no religious affiliation. APSE strives to engage various stakeholders in community projects on environmental issues owing to global and local environmental threatening challenges. As an organization, we seek to build environmental capacity and mobilize volunteers, mainly young people passionate about the environment. We project them as agents of change for their local communities. We work and support projects on climate change, renewable energy, green technology, etc.APSE has conducted several activities within less than two years of her existence. The projects include a sensitization program around the Awka area, the AWKA 50,000 plastic challenge, volunteerism workshops, and sensitization programs at UNIZIK in partnership with other NGOs.The team leaders have also engaged in various radio and TV programs to create public awareness of environmental sustainability issues.
